Job Title: Supplier Performance Management (PSI-0102)
Location: Herndon, VA
Salary: $35- $45 per hour
Employment: 3 Month Contract assignment (possible extension)
Summary:
This position is responsible for monitoring and reporting on critical supplier relationships on behalf of the enterprise as well as ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include executing strategies, and processes for Supplier Relationship Management. This position ensures that the enterprise obtains the value and compliance from our supplier contracts and their companies. To be successful it is necessary to gain consensus for the program through internal communications, to influence suppliers to improve performance and then to measure and report on results obtained back to the business units, executives and peers. The role must also ensure that the on-boarding and management of suppliers is in compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Builds Consensus – for the program by influencing stakeholders to agree on providing substantive program support, defined roles & responsibilities, methods for measuring supplier performance, and handling ongoing monitoring of supplier’s risk profile. Delivers a high level of customer service to business units through reporting and monitoring. Adept at leading and influencing high performance teams.
Creates Value – by influencing the inclusion of strong service levels in contracts and by monitoring and managing supplier performance. Measures and reports on supplier value gains to business unit executives as well as through Corporate Procurement dashboards.
Formal Monitoring -- Independently identifies and manages key Supplier relationships on behalf of the enterprise, including the following mandatory activities:
- Conduct regularly scheduled supplier review meetings with Supplier representatives and business clients
- Oversee performance improvement planning and execution when needed
- Develop and maintain scorecards that monitor vendor Supplier performance and drive action towards increased value and reduced risk
- Ensure that all appropriate remedies and savings are realized by the enterprise.
- Compliance: (1) Collect required regulatory documentation; (2) Track and store documents, consistently and with 100% accuracy; (3) Be able to create and provide requested Ad-Hoc reports.
- Monitor Key Supplier Marketplace -- Identify trends, risks and opportunities which may impact Suppliers’ businesses. Monitor key risk factors, financial data, and market info which assist the enterprise in predicting supplier risk and/or performance factors. Maintain strong knowledge of industry, trends, pricing and contracting practices.
- Diversity, etc. -- Establish process to ensure additional focus is on supplier diversity, sustainable procurement and other socially conscious initiatives. May include mentoring and coaching diverse or small businesses to ensure diversity objectives are met.
- Other -- Perform other related projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA and CPM or NCMA certification are preferred.
• 5+ years progressive experience in strategic procurement activities such as supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation or contract management.
• 3+ years experience leading cross functional teams, negotiating and building consensus
• Leadership - functions independently and as a team member. Critical thinker who can deliver solutions and drive improvement by measuring, managing and reporting on the assigned categories and suppliers. Focused on execution and results.
• Superior analytic, project management, relationship building, negotiation, verbal, writing and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated specific category knowledge, such as IT, Construction, Facilities Management, Professional Services, Contract Labor, etc.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of sourcing/contracting principles.
• Ability to multi-task and function in fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Experience using SAP eSourcing, PeopleSoft, contract management software, and other supply chain technologies.
• Experience driving continuous process improvements and measuring customer satisfaction
• Experience implementing programs which increase diverse spend and which implement socially conscious and/or sustainable procurement initiatives.
• Strong skills using the suite of Microsoft Office products.
